Highlights from Guest Masterclass with violinist, Mel Martin

Thursday, April 20th was a very fun and educational day here at the Studio! We were so lucky to have Western University Lecturer and Stratford Festival Orchestra Concertmaster, and violinist Mel Martin come in and work with five of our students! The sanctuary at Leaside United provided the perfect acoustic backdrop as Mel skillfully worked with each student, guiding them through violin and bow posture tips, intonation exercises, bow articulation exercises, and musical phrasing. It was so exciting to watch each student flourish under Mel's guidance during the masterclass; and even more exciting to see them continue to apply the skills they learned, to their continued weekly practice. A be thank you to Mel, for taking the time to come in and work with our students, and a big congratulations to all our students involved in the masterclass for a job well done!
